Time Zone

Newfoundland Standard Time is a ½ hour ahead of Atlantic Standard Time, 1 ½ hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time, 2 ½ hours ahead of Central Standard Time, 3 ½ hours ahead of Mountain Standard Time and 4 ½ hours ahead of Pacific Standard Time. 

It is strongly recommended that you plan to arrive in St. John's a day earlier than the conference so you have a day to catch-up from jetlag and the time change.  You will find yourself very tired the first day you arrive, especially if you are coming from west of Ontario.

Ferries to St. John's

Unfortunately, ferry services provided by Marine Atlantic from North Sydney, Nova Scotia to the Island portion of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador only run until September 24th and docks 81 miles from St. John’s.
